Glimmerdeep Mine

A public level 9–12 dungeon beneath Copperfall Quarry: glimmer veins, a lamp-lit landing and the Lodestone Overseer.

3 minute read · Development preview guide

Finding the shaft

  1. Finish Elow's Rune Fen Bridge Ward, then accept The Shaft Beneath Copperfall from Elow in Stonebrook Outpost.
  2. Walk to the east rail of Copperfall Quarry and take the shaft lift marked Glimmerdeep Mine · Level 10.
  3. Speak with Wren on the landing. The landing is safe paving: creatures ignore you there and you cannot attack from it. Wren restores all health for 6 gold and sells Dew Herbs and Repair Kits.

What lives below

  • Deepwick Moths (level 9) circle the Upper Gallery and the Drift and sting from two tiles away.
  • Gleamdrip Slimes (9) and Seamglow Orebacks (10) graze the galleries' loose ore.
  • Shaftcap Lurkers (11) wait in the Gloomcap Seep, close enough together to pull each other in.
  • Mine creatures walk around water and props to reach you, and anything you can hit can see you. A creature dragged too far from its post returns there at full health.

The Lodestone Overseer

The Overseer (level 12) guards the vault beyond the Drift's east rail. Before every swing, a violet ring covering its two-tile reach appears on the floor and STEP BACK shows above it: step outside the ring and the swing misses. It never strikes back instantly and ignores interrupts. Fight it inside the vault or at its door. Dragged onto the rail, or left alone, it reforms at full health. It returns five minutes after defeat.

Up to four fighters share each victory: the one who dealt the most damage in the last minute, plus up to three others who each dealt at least 15% of its health in that minute and are still in the mine. They split its experience and gold, and each one counts the defeat for their own task. Each fighter also receives personal spoils (a Lodestone Heart, three Glimmer Shards, two Copper Ore, sometimes a Temper Stone or a sealed item), at most three times per day; the count resets at 00:00 UTC. Later victories that day still pay experience, gold and task credit.

Glimmer crafts

  • Chip Glimmer Shards from the three violet veins (10 seconds between cuts per vein) or recover them from mine creatures.
  • Glimmer-Folded Temper Stones (Smith rank 2): 3 Glimmer Shards, 1 Copper Ore and a 30-gold bench fee make two Temper Stones.
  • Shaftlight Helm (level 11 head, Smith rank 2): 5 Glimmer Shards, 6 Copper Ore, 1 Repair Kit and a 60-gold bench fee.
  • Glimmerdeep Pendant (level 11 accessory, Smith rank 3): a Lodestone Heart, 6 Glimmer Shards, 4 Copper Ore and a 150-gold cutting fee, at Wren's bench or Hollis's anvil.
  • Both can be tempered and resealed. Neither ever comes from random seals. Hearts and pendants can be traded like any item.
