Unreleased alpha updates

Changelog

The latest visible changes in the playable alpha, from new maps and monsters to supporting systems that keep progress durable and understandable.

pump.fun launch preparation — October 2026

The launch direction is pump.fun. Original token artwork, draft metadata and a public token-status page are prepared. No official token address exists yet. Wallet linking, contribution accrual and payout preparation are disabled on the public server until the selected network integration is ready. The NPC and world-object click targets now align with their sprites.

The gates are open — October 2026

Ascend Online is live at ascendonline.quest. Explore richer forests and marshes with sixteen new scenery pieces and new art for Bog Anglers, Lantern Moths, Gloomcaps and Rune Stalkers. Characters save across server restarts, and private recovery codes let you return on another device. Seven original music themes are available in game and on the soundtrack page. Live token payouts are not yet enabled.

Original world art, score and deeper progression — October 2026

Five original sprite atlases, seven instrumental themes and twelve sound effects are integrated into the game. Equipment now has armor, head, offhand and accessory slots, nine weapons and eleven recipes. Arc Vault gains persistent storage. Eight new quests track hunting, travel and crafting, while party chat and whispers extend social play. The local preview saves characters through restarts. This remains an alpha; full classic-MMO content and a public funded reward launch are unfinished.

Historical: Robinhood rewards and social progression — October 2026

Arc Vault now verifies EVM wallet signatures and displays funded claim periods. Server-owned contributions, persistent reward records, a tested ERC20 escrow, four-player parties, profession XP, healing herbs and usable laptop chat replace the previous preview-only economy. No public token launch or live payout is claimed.

Public docs pages

Roadmap, changelog, and known issues are now available in-app so alpha scope and limitations are visible without reading the repository.

Historical: Solana preview (superseded)

Arc Vault can store a Solana devnet address as preview account metadata and now explains native token utility, pump.fun launch status, creator-fee buybacks, and P2E reward limits.

Bounty Board V0

Arc Goals now give returning players capped daily objectives for meadow kills, Memory Fragment recovery, and Wisp Dust recovery plus weekly Broken Gate clear and Gate Relic recovery goals with server-authoritative rewards, reset timing, and suggested next goals.

Economy sinks and treasury fields

The alpha economy now includes off-chain gold sinks and public report fields for creator fees, buybacks, reward-pool funding, and sink spend.

Echo Rift Gate variant

Broken Gate Entrance now unlocks Echo Rift after the Broken Gate clear, opening a repeatable combat variant with Glitch Slimes, Corrupt Wisps, Gate runes, and a return arch.

Procedural audio cues

The Phaser client now plays lightweight generated cues for movement, targeting, attacks, Arts, hits, pickups, and Gate travel after the first player gesture.

Echo Rift visual polish

GateStone tiles now render with the stone tile art, and Echo Rift has owned rift-crystal blockers to give the repeatable Gate variant a stronger visual identity.

Arc Goals UI polish

The Bounty Board now presents repeatable goals with status chips, route hints, clearer progress bars, period summary, and reward strips for the returning-player loop.

Gate Sentinel readability

The target window now gives Gate Sentinel phase guidance, live Gate Shard counts during the shield, and clearer advice for shield and final-phase windows.

Map panel polish

The map window now reads more like an in-world cartograph, with position and gate summaries, terrain swatches, object-colored blockers, and clearer locked/open Gate markers.

Layer Chat polish

The chat panel now reads like a compact signal log, with sender badges, timestamps, typing state, clearer empty state, and ASCII-safe control helper copy.

Historical: pump.fun plan (superseded)

The launch checklist now captures token metadata placeholders, current pump.fun assumptions to verify, creator-fee allocation policy, buyback reporting, reward eligibility, pre-launch gates, and forbidden copy.

Arc Vault policy copy

Arc Vault and the public economy report now explain that creator fees are recorded before allocation, buybacks are reported only after they occur, and claims remain disabled until wallet, treasury, and review gates are live.

Enemy intent readability

Glitch Slimes and Corrupt Wisps now expose server-authoritative chase, windup, attack, recover, leash, and idle states through the world view and target panel.

Admin moderation and economy logs

The realtime server now exposes protected admin endpoints for player lists, chat mute/unmute, and a capped runtime ledger of reward and shop economy events.

Gate Sentinel boss mechanics

The Broken Gate Sentinel now raises a shield at half health, spawns Gate Shards that must be destroyed, then enters an enraged final phase before the Gate clear reward can be claimed.

Public economy report

A redacted /economy page and /public/economy-report endpoint now summarize runtime reward and shop activity without player ids, wallet data, chat, or moderation details.

Alpha account recovery

Guest characters can now be linked to a normalized account name and one-time recovery code, allowing the same session to be recovered before joining on another browser.

Durable admin/audit logs

Economy events and account/moderation audit events now persist through the repository adapters, with Postgres schema support and a protected admin audit endpoint.

Economy trend UI

The public economy report now includes a redacted time-bucket history chart and bucket totals for recent reward and shop activity.

Passwordless email recovery preview

Players can link an email, request a one-time login code, and recover the existing session. Codes are hashed, expiring, single-use, and persisted through the repository adapters.

Postgres deployment readiness

Local Postgres compose support, a db:check script, expanded env examples, and deployment notes now verify the same schema path used by the realtime server.

Production email delivery support

Passwordless login codes now use an email sender adapter with console delivery for dev/test and Resend delivery for production configuration.

OAuth/OIDC account recovery backend

The server can now start provider authorization, exchange callback codes, link a provider identity to an existing session, and recover linked accounts through repository-backed identity lookup.

OAuth account recovery UI

The account panel can start OAuth linking for an active character, and the entry screen can recover an OAuth-linked account through a short-lived handoff token when a provider is configured.

Production deployment preflight

A deploy:check script now validates production mode, Postgres, admin and CORS settings, Resend, public web URLs, and optional OAuth config before release.

Combat Depth V0

Monsters now retaliate with configured damage, town floor tiles protect players from hostile retaliation, defeated players respawn at the current Layer entrance, and player HP/damage feedback is visible in the Phaser view.

Equipment and Gate loop depth

Mirel now sells a Field Blade upgrade, Gate Sentinel drops a Gate Relic and rare Sentinel Edge, and inventory/shop panels show weapon attack bonuses with comparison hints.

Dungeon Slice V0

Broken Gate now works as the first short dungeon-style loop: enter the Gate, fight Gate mobs, defeat the Sentinel, collect the Gate Relic, and turn in Luma's Broken Gate Lamps quest.

Weapon Arts V0

Equipped weapons now unlock active Arts: Quick Cut, Sweeping Cut, and Fracture Slash. The server validates range, cooldowns, weapon match, target state, and boss shield state, while the target UI exposes the Art button and Q shortcut.

Gate Sentinel

Broken Gate Entrance now has a mini-boss that grants a one-time Gate clear reward and durable completion badge.

Second map V0

Broken Gate Entrance is reachable through clickable Gate exits, with map-local presence, chat, monsters, drops, and snapshots.

Sprite polish

Player placeholders use layered body parts and show the Training Blade when equipped; equipment updates broadcast to nearby clients.

Content loop expansion

Corrupt Wisps spawn in the outer meadow, drop Wisp Dust, and unlock Luma's Static in the Grass quest after Clear the Glitches.

Shop V0

Mirel the Meadow Quartermaster sells field supplies for off-chain gold with server-side range, stock, quantity, and balance checks.

Persistence layer

Character progress survives reconnects through guest sessions, with memory and Postgres repository adapters.

CI

GitHub Actions runs typecheck, tests, and build on push and pull requests.
